I just purchased a pair of 256 SIMMS for my computer.
When the computer runs the RAM test, it recognizes that
the new RAM is there as does the BIOS, but when Windows
XP Professional attempts to load, it either locks up when
it loads the desktop or reboots as soon as I attempt to
open any program. Is there a particular setting that I
must enable/disable. My computer is a (don't laugh) a
Compaq Professional Workstation that came with 64 megs
to begin with and the RAM cap is 512 which is what I
upgraded to and would like to use. Thanks,
