Sounds like a possible hardware incompatibility, however
it is very odd, DVD and CD drives are box standard things
these days...like most computer problems so called techs
deny all knowledge and you end up spending a fortune to
crack the problem...
I presume you've scanned Device Manager for any yellow
exclamation marks? And checked the Event Viewer for any
error messages?
