My Logitech TrackMan USB mouse was responding very
sluggishly, so I atte, pted to repair it. I installed
Mouseware 8.60 in the process. The result has been that I
have neither keyboard nor mouse function at all. Th
computer boots correctly otherwise. I lose keyboard and
mouse function after BIOS.
I tried using Recovery Console on th XP CD-ROM, but that
would not accept my Administrator password. The solution
to that seems to be precluded becase I am locked out.
Is there any solution short of re-installation of the
operating system?
Thanks for your help.

Hello
Try this
You can install XP over itself. This is called a "Repair Install". It
will
install XP in it's original state without effecting your data or
programs
installed. This was called a dirty install with Windows 9X, however with
XP,
this is actually a very clean install. You will have to reapply SP1 and
any/all updates from Windows Update.

Alvin,
Thanks. I am now in the middle of the re-install and
still have no mouse or keyboard. I am facing
the "Regional and Language Options" Dialog box and have
no (obvious) option but to turn the computer off.
Is that what I should do? Any other options?
