I have a sony slim desk top. When I use plug and play
devices (like thumb drive or CF card) on USB, new hardware
found pops up and ask for installation driver. I have
use those devices on other XP computers and there were not
such requirement. Is there any hardware probelm with my
USB on the Sony computer?

I also have probelm installing printer drivers on the USB
on this computer. It could always detect a new hardware,
but could not install it. Any idea what could be the
cause?

Thanks.

Depending on the PC, you may be running an OEM version of Windows XP. It is
possible that some OEM PC makers may only install a limited set of drivers
(usually only for their own hardware). The OEM version of XP may not have
all the USB drivers installed, so you may have to install the USB device
drivers.
