How do I add my own text to away status on Outlook
Express Email i.e. "I'm away from my computer and not
checking email". I understand you can click on Outlook's
away status verbage under Tools, Online status, but I
wanted to add my own message.

Thanks!

The Online status is for Instant Messenger.
If you want to send email reply's back to people when you are away you can
set up a rule to automatically reply to all emails.

you can do the following:
1. Go to MSN Messenger windows
2. Click Tools/Options...
3. On the Personal tab, type your message after your name.

But make sure you remove it after you are back.

you can even use a nick name there.

Cheers

Assuming that you mean Outlook Express, write your text using Notepad and
save it as a TXT file. Make your rule and tell it to Reply with message and
browse to your TXT file.

WARNING:
It will also respond to your spam messages that get past any rule above
which does not have Stop processing more rules. Since a lot of spam has
phone email addresses your ISP will respond to you with an undeliverable
message. To which OE will respond again. If the undeliverable response
used an undeliverable address, you, get another one to which OE will
response, etc. End result, a stuffed mail box and further mail to you gets
bounced.
See if your ISP offers this service.
