Hi there, I have an Intel P4 1.6, 256MB RAM, Geforce4 MX
440 64MB video card, Intel 845WN motherboard. I have
updated to the lastest motherboard bios. I have freshly
installed Windows XP Home with SP1 and motherboard chipset
drivers (newest), when I install the nvidia drivers it
will start to install then when it gets to 17% done the
screen goes blank. I have used the 56.64, 53.04, 45.33
version drivers. One thing I don't understand is that it
used to work with the drivers. But anytime I install the
5X.XX drivers it goes blank and the 45.33 drivers just
don't install. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

Jim,
Could send me your setupapi.log to . With this log
I will hopefully be able to tell what is causing your driver install to
fail.

Steps to get the setupapi.log:
1) Go to c:\windows
2) Find the setupapi.log (this can be pretty big so please compress the
file)
3) Right click on setupapi.log -> sent to -> Compressed (zipped) folder
4) Attach the setupapi.zip that was create to your e-mail

Did you uninstall the previous drivers first? Also I believe the only dirvers that wre WHQL certified are the 43.30 or similar drivers. Only use the drivers that windows update suggests. If there are one, use your original drivers from the card. Good luck.
