I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 5100 computer which came
equipped with a Roxio CD Creator Basic. The program can
copy files, but when I attempt to copy a disk, I get the
message "Insert a blank disk", after I have inserted a
formatted blank disk. Dell support tells me that if the
unit will copy files, there is nothing wrong with the
hardware. Roxio support is no help either.

If you are trying to copy a CD, you must insert a blank CD-r disk, not
a formatted CD-RW disk. There is no formatting for a CD-R disk.
