Go to the Palm website and get the latest install program
for Palm then install it.

I am having a similar problem as the poster below (in PC Banter). First the communication worked both ways, Palm Desktop to m505 handheld and back. Now for whatever reasons it only works from desktop to handheld and not vice versa, although the handheld does all the bells and whistles and thinks the transfer has been made from its end. But the computer software log does not show the HotSync action taking place, and no data are transmitted. In the meantime I have had some trouble trying to delete user names that are not the ones I want. I had to create a new user name just to keep from getting locked out of the software altogether, then revert back to my actual user name. When I call Palm, they want to charge me $25 just to ask a question because my machine is out of warranty (I bought it used). Does anybody know how to clear up the problem a desktop-to-Hotsync connection working just fine, but not the other way?

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

I do not know. Sorry.

I do, on the other hand, have an idea... Do you have some sort of firewall
installed? Is this connected via a firewire port? USB port? NIC? Root around
in those and see if one of them (I recently read something about Windows
Firewall blocking traffic on firewire ports which is why I ask) has a funny
looking yellow lock near it's icon. If you're using the Windows Firewall try
turning it off for a second (disconnect from the internet first) and see if
it will sync then?

As I said, I don't know. I only have a couple of ideas that I'd try if this
was my situation. I guess, for a change, I'm glad it's not. Hopefully if the
above isn't the right solution then it will get you going on the right
track.

By the way, did this happen recently? After an update? If so what was
updated?
