Sorry People - I've seen similar posts.

Please remind us, how do you make a window open full screen (or at the size you desire) when an application is launched.

It's one of the most important features of Windows - but difficult to find a simple answer.

After opening the app, resize the window to what you want when you open it. Close the app and re-launch it.
If you want it full size, select maximize in the upper right of the window.

Sorry Scott - but that simply doesn't work with individual websites stored as favourites. Closing IE doesn't do the job.

It's got something to do with Control - Shift (or other similar witchcraft!!).

Hi, One sollution I read in this newsgroup..

Pull the window with the arrows, to the size you want it. Then click on file and then click on exit(close). do not use the maximize sign in the upper right corner. Close the pc and reopen and see if it comes back maximized.

IGood luck and good day. Phil

I know what you are talking about. It was a feature that started with
either 3.1 or 95. When you closed using a certain key command it would save
the desktop settings. I can't recall the key command, but it is something
like ctrl-shift. Have you tried windows help for that command? Or "save
destop settings' or "save windows size" on both the windows help or
support.microsoft.com?

Two possible choices here, but both will work:

1) Close all windows except the one you want to adjust its size. Then, while
holding down the Control button, use your mouse to drag all corners of the
window to the fully open size you want. Then, while still holding the Contol
button down, close the window. Then next time you open the window, its size
will be remembered.

2) With only the window open you want to resize, right click on your
taskbar and select "Tile Windows Horizontally." This is the most powerful
feature, so be careful that only one window is open when you do it.

If you primarily wanting IE to always open maximized do this:

On any webpage right click on a hyperlink and choose 'open in new window'. Close the original window. Resize the new window by dragging it's borders to fill the screen. Hold down the CTRL key when you close the window with the "X". Now IE should always open up maximized.
