Hi,

I have an IBM Thinkpad R-32. Preinstalled is Windows XP
Home Edition.

My problem is that when I turn on my computer, everything
seems fine, welcome screen comes up, and the desktop
wallpaper is shown. After the desktop is shown, it comes
up with an error message saying that explorer.exe has
cause and error, and wants me to send an error report to
microsoft. The start bar, and no icons show up either.
Windows key doesn't open start bar either.

I can do nothing to fix this problem.
Using the recovery program may fix this problem, but I
have a large number of multi thousand word assignments
that i need to hand in.

Please reply...

Eric

Do a repair install that way you won't loose a thing.
