Speaker Problems

Ok, I've just came home from Uni and i've found out when
i've turned on the PC, that whenever i play music or even
a generic windows sound file on it, theres an echo effect
on everything, it sounds like it's being played in a
large hall.

From what i know of the PC (it's my parent's PC), it has
a SiS 7018 Soundcard and the speakers are just standard
desktop speakers....

I've asked my friends, none of them know whats wrong,
i've checked the Sound part on the control panel and i
don't know how to get rid of it, anyone got any
suggestions????
