Back on the 20th there was a thread about the Welcome page.
A gentleman named McCarty (I think) gave the following
formula for getting rid of the page:
Go to Start/Run and type in "control userpasswords" hit enter
and uncheck the line "User must enter user name."
I did that and now my computer starts and gives me the
message "Windows is starting up" but it doesn't, it just
hangs there. I went back to the "Control Userpasswords" to
undo the selection, but there is no place to check or
uncheck that option; it has disappeared. Can someone help
me get the welcome page back?

Try using Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2".

That should take you to the screen that you are expecting.
