Have Windows XP Home Edition + SP1 on an HP Pavillion
laptop. DVD/CD-R/W using DLA option. System is several
months old and all was working well.
Some time in last 3 weeks the CD write function has gone
berserk - I go through the same steps as before but large
data files somehow end up as a small audio file (of
garbage) when the CD is made "compatible" and re-inserted
into the CD drive. I did not change any configurations
although I have downloaded various XP "fixes" and also
downloaded Quicktime 6.
