If you have not activated your installed copy of Windows XP then you will
be constantly getting reminders that you have x days left to activate it,
with x being a number that starts at 30 and counts down.

However even if you have activated the copy on the current computer you
can still transfer the retail license to another person. Read the
provisions in the EULA.TXT file in your windows\system32 folder.

Yes, true, but I wasn't sure on the size before activation :)

I also suggested Start->Run and type oobe/msoobe.exe /A which will tell if
you are activated.
