everything starts in a minimised window

Hi
It's irritates me a lot. When I open a Windows program or an Office (XP) program it
always opens in a small window (not maximised). Even if I max the window close the
program and start it again it opens in that same small window.
How can I change that

You might try this: When any Office XP program opens up in a smaller window,
drag its window edges as far as you want (may to fill the whole screen) and
close it. Now open the (same) application to see how it opens.
