Installing handheld

I got a sony clie which should synchronize with the pc. I
was getting error messages so contacted sony and they
said I should download the xp compatible software which i
did. This has made no difference as I think it is a port
problem.When I plug in (usb) to the pc the pc says it
cannot install the hardware properly. I get the following
message on my handheld when I try to synchronize "Unable
to initiate operation because the serial port is in use
by another application.

Can you help
