View Full Version : Task Scheduler

My system is XP Home used by a single user (me). I run it as
"administrator" and have no password created for it. After some effort I
find that I apparently cannot create a Task Scheduler entry with having a
user password assigned. If I do so, when the task tries to execute it
complains that the password is incorrect. If I go back and create a password
for the administrator, and plug that into the Task Scheduler, then it will
work properly.

Question:

1) Is this in fact correct? Must I operate the system with a password in
order for the Task Scheduler to allow me to create an entry?

2) Software I've installed, such as Norton Antivirus, somehow manage to
create Task Scheduler entries without a password in the system. If they can
do it, isn't there some way that I can do it manually?

Thanks...

Bill
