My Windows XP used to ask me what I wanted Windows to do
when I, for example, put in a blank CD. It always had
lots of options, and at the bottom would be always do
this action. Evidently, one of my kids checked always do
this action one time because it doesn't come up anymore
when I hook up my camera to the computer. Could someone
please tell me how to get it to come back and give me my
options? Thank you!

For cdroms you right click on the cdrom drive in my computer and select
properties. There are autorun settings within the properties applet.
For webcams i dont know how to set that up.

Nancy,

Go to Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Autopla
yHandlers\UserDefaults

Look in the right pane. You'll see a list, possibly, of the various devices
that have had the Always do this action check (CD-Rom drives, cameras and
the like. With a little thought, you can determine which value goes to
which device. Right click the UserDefaults subkey and select Export. This
creates a REG file that can be re-imported, should you find you made a
mistake. Next, right click the value, in the right pane, that corresponds
to your camera. Select Delete.
