I am working on a computer and the person has Windows XP
Pro installed, the modem that the computer came with was
an HSP MicroModem, Windows recognizes the modem but
nothing else will, the modem is listed as functional.
So, I am a little confused as to how to get the modem to
be recognized by ISP. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated

you need to setup your dialup connection (there is a wizard inside network
connections)
other than that it could be wrong initializing string

more info please

I am trying to connect using BellSouth when the software
goes to setup the internet connection it says it cant
find any modems, windows says there is a modem there,
when i try connecting through aol it says that it cannot
establish connection, the modem dials out but wont be
recognized by any programs

If modem is dialing, then programs see the modem. Just
because modem does not connect to Bellsouth does not mean
programs do not see modem.

Still must supply basic facts. Don't draw conclusions. Post
the basic facts. Also avoid run on sentences that require two
or three readings before they begin to make sense. Those run
on sentences look too much like what Nixon would write.
Scary.
