Why do I get the following message when trying to play DVDs on my computer?
I am using Power DVD 4.0 software, although get no joy in the Windows Media
Player either..
"Error Code: F4D41436. TheTV Out port of your display card is not working
properly."
My Display card is a Creative GeForce Titanium 200. I do not use the TV out.
Is there any way of disabling it?
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
LX

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your graphics card, found at

Just tried brand new NVidia drivers 44.03 (released 14/5/03) and no change
I'm afraid. Same old message when I attempt to play DVDs.

The Windows Media Player 9 also doesn't play the DVDs. I get some copyright
error message - one that you should get if something is attached to your
graphics card's TV output. Are there any XP administrative services I need
to check?

Hi LX
I've had the same problem with the same card. It's the copy-protection
system on some newer DVDs, designed to stop recording through TV screens.
The only successful way I've overcome it, to view 'Minority Report', was to
roll-back the drivers and let Windows put in the driver from the original XP
installation. Not sure which version that was in the end. Just keep going
until the TV-out isn't available... It's only a work-round I'm afraid.. but
hopefully it's only affecting some DVDs... You'll need to re-install a
newer driver for any DirectX9 activity though.
Hope that helps
Pete
