I recently upgraded to WinXP. I seem to have lost the
ability to use the Print Screen key now. I have an older
DOS program that I need to make screenshots from on a
regular basis, but can no longer capture the screenshots
with the printscreen button now that I have XP. Any ideas
on what I need to do to re-enable this?

Go to www.wisdom-soft.com and download "ScreenHunter 4.0 Free" Try it and
see if you like it go back to the web site and purchase a license for
commercial use Screen Hunter Pro ($29.95). Really like the program since
you can set it to Autosave to a filename and sequentially increment the file
name, have it select the desktop, window or a user selectable area. Use it
all the time for instructional manuals for programs in training for programs
and personal use.

It will capture DOS windows and programs operating in the DOS window.

When you hit the Print Screen key,
What ever is on the computer screen is copied to the Clipbrd. (clip board)
OR
You can selectively click and highlight the Text, and hit Ctrl + C to copy
to the Clipbrd

To see what is copied, click Start, Run and type: clipbrd and click OK or
hit Enter.
You can also see what is on the clipbrd by going to NotePad and click Ctrl+V

You can Paste anything on the Clipbrd to any document.

Hi Stephen,

Do yourself a favor and get a copy of Iframview. It will take your
screenshots and a whole lot more.

Greetings --

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard. To view the screen capture, open a graphics program,
such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of
the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to
view it or save it as a file for later use.
