Greeting cards not centered

My first computer had Win 95 (later upgraded to 98). It
was a Sony with a Canon printer. I enjoyed making
greeting cards with it.
12/2001, I got a new Sony PCV-RX580 with Windows XP and a
HP PSC 950.
I installed my card program (American Greetings Creata
Card).
Here is the problem..... on the face of the card, it does
not put the picture in the center. It's almost to the
edge on the left and there is a 3/4 inch margin on the
right.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and the card
program. Same problem. I installed another card program
and it did the SAME thing!
I spoke to Creata Card, Sony, & Hp. They all blame the
other guy! I gave up!
THEN, last week I purchased a Sony notebook PCG-FR130
with Windows XP.
Guess what? I installed Creata Card and it showed that
the card was centered. Then I installed the printer and
it was OFF center again.
So I uninstalled the HP and it showed the card being
centered. Then I installed my old Canon printer. SAME
problem. Soooo.. that leaves Windows XP as the
suspect. Can anyone help????
