Modem moves

1. The modem of my laptop moves. Some times in COM3, some
times in COM4.
2. My IE6 sometimes closes when I'm using it. I don't
know why.

It's probably a WinModem then, I haven't dealt with one in years, but I'm
sure it won't lead to anything serious unless you're using a program that
needs that info.
What are you doing when it closes, maybe something's broke?
