View Full Version : Replacing missing DLL.Files

I created a restore point, but somehow certain files
needed to open "system restore" can't be found or are
corrupted...My computer came with the XP-Professional
software, so I don't have a C.D. When I try to
open "system restore", a message window comes up that
says;(Window Border)-rstrui.exe-Unable to locate component
(Window Contents)-This application has failed to
start because framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing
the application may fix this problem.
Is there any way to access my restore point by another
path? (ie. dos. or command prompt) or could this mean my
restore point might be deleted as well? I just recently
acquired the computer, so unfortunately, I haven't run
the Microsoft "Back-up" program (in the accessories menu)
at this time. The only one I have run, is system restore.
I created 2 restore points.
How do I trouble-shoot this problem and/or retrive the
missing dll.file? PLEASE HELP!!!

In your case the installation files should be located somewhere on the
HDD. Run the System File Checker from Start > Run with the command
SFC /scannow
