Brother HL8 Printer

I have a Brother HL8 laser printer. I have had this
printer since before Windows 95. I have used it
successfully with Windows 95, 98, 98SE and Me. My newest
computer is running Windows XP, and the Brother HL8
printer driver does not work. I have searched the
Microsoft site but there seems to be no place to get the
corrected driver. Microsoft must know how to make a
correct driver ... since that have had it in every other
Windows release.

Any ideas?

According to the Microsoft HCL, it's got a driver on the Windows 2000 CD,
so get someone who has Windows 2k and see if they can pull the driver out
for you. (.INF files and files it needs, I suggest you not overwrite
anything though)

Barry;
It is not and never has been up to Microsoft to provide hardware
drivers.
The hardware manufacturers are responsible for drivers if they choose
to support the hardware.
Check the manufacturers website for Windows XP driver, otherwise
Windows 2000 drivers often work.
