Can not get online after REINSTALLTION of XP. Have tried a
couple fixes, including MS's fix by changing a registy
value. Dit not work. It is noted (burned in,listed, etc. on
the "DISK") that TCP/IP not forwarded in XP by default!
Why did MS let a disk like that out knowing that the user
could not get on line after installation? I think it is a
pretty dirty trick to let something like that go and
expect the user to pay a long distance phone call and/or
pay MS for pro. help. There solution, for the average
user, to change a registry value is not what you would
expect ( at least before trying to get help/support )from
MS. I think they should have to exchange disks (or least
have a free download to floppy disk) to solve this
problem. Thanks for any help/advice for a fix. JP
