built in microphone doesnt work with windows xp HELP!

i upgraded to windows xp from qwindows me and i can not
get my built in mic to work. Please anyone helop me ive
been woring on thsi prob for a month

Hi

You may have to re-install your soundcard drivers and not sure if
you have done that yet. By the way do you currently get a sound
from your speakers.

1. go to Start---Programs---Accessories---Entertainment-Click
VolumeControl

2. Will provide you with a volume control layout, see if the mic is
muted or not
3. And unmute, also make sure that you have the current sdcard drivers
installed
4. Are you currently getting sound, also type of card that you have and
what
is your pc spec's
5. You may have to re-install your soundcard with the correct Drivers
for XP
