View Full Version : Inquisitive Mouse?

After upgrading to WIN XP Home, I installed the Intellipoint 4.1 software
upgrade. I've noticed that, on occasion, point32.exe tries to make a net
connection. Now, why in the world does my mouse control software want to
surf the net?

Sounds cheesy to me.

Any idea how to uninstall this rodent to a squeaky clean condition?

The Intellipoint and Intellitype software suites both check for updates to
themselves, which is likely why you are seeing it make a net connection.

Yeah, I can understand the importance of my mouse software making sure
it's up to date at least 4 or 5 times a day. I smell a rat.......

How do I uninstall this overly zealous vermin?

Well, if you want to let your paranoia get the better of you then just
uninstall the Intellipoint software. It shows up in the Add/Remove programs
applet in the control panel, just like any other piece of software.

Geez...I checked add/remove twice before I went looking for answers
elsewhere...no idea HOW I missed that one...

Must be an MS conspiracy to make me look like an idiot...yeah, that's it...
an MS conspiracy against me :-)
