PC slow - how to speed up

My PC Presario with Windows XP o.s. is very slow. It
takes 3 minues toboot it up and for changing pages it
takes l to l-1/2 minutes. How can I speed it up?

For starters, more then 256 MB ram helps. Also, removing uneccessary
programs from startup, like, aol, real audio...etc.

Remove temporary internet files, clean history (at least once a month). It's
amazing how many people you can run into who never even do this.
