Hi
I wonder if anyone can help. I can't obtain sound from the
front headphone socket on my Sony CD-RW drive, although the
drive plays fine through the audio card. I have the front
volume control turned up! It running under Windows XP home
with service pack 1.
Moreover, this is the same on two drives (Sony CRX220E1) so
it's not a fault on the drive. The headphones work fine.
One final bit of information. On a another dual boot
computer (XP and Windows 2000), the cd drive gives sound on
the front socket when run under 2000, but not under XP (and
obviously the hardware is identical in both cases).
I can't see any software control in XP home for the front
panel socket, but maybe I'm missing something obvious.
Or is this a strange 'feature' of XP with some (all?) CD
drives?
Any suggestions?
Many thanks.
