I have 200 mb left on my C drive and I'm trying to run
disk cleanup utility on my windows xp professional. It
gets frozen in the firtst 30 seconds of what should only
be a few minute analysis of my files to evaluate what
should be removed. In other words my disk cleanup utility
on xp is not working. What should I do?

Try the following web sites for troubleshooting suggestions:

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Line #48. In the right-hand window, click on
"Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it.
(Note: Disable your antivirus program before running the repair script)
