New to Windows XP and self-taught, 'Error' boxes, from
history, have a nasty habit of letting gremlins loose in
the system. No more than two weeks old, the laptop is
working well, all with the exception of a
consistant 'Error' window popping up, mostly when the
internet is on and occasionally when no application is
running. Please can someone help? The 'Error' message
reads, verbatim: "A runtime error has occured. Do you
wish to debug? Line: 214. Error: objected expected. Yes
or No.

Not sure what it all means, can someone help?

Thanks,

Matt

That is an error in the JavaScript interpreter. You can turn off
script debugging from Internet Options/Advanced and check the box to
Disable script debugging. You can get to Internet Options from the
Tools menu while Internet Explorer is running or by right-clicking
on the Internet Explorer icon on the Desktop and choosing
Properties. Since you cannot make any changes to the pages you
visit, debugging is a useless exercise.
