cdrw drive detected as regular cd drive

I don't know what happened. Everything was working
fine. Now my cd-rw drive and dvd drive both show up in
my computer and windows explorer as regular cd drives. I
cannot burn to the cdrw. Device manager shows them
correctly and says they are working correctly. One thing
I did change was I installed windows media player 9. I
also cannot restore beyond when I installed media player
9. Any help?
