When I try to connect my PC to my TV, the pic get BW

Hello I have a very big problem. My TV screen only shows black and white on my TV, why? I have a cable from my PC and I have all the new updates for my ATI Radeaon 256 card...
I'd be so happy if anybody told me how to get color at my TV so I can get some eastern fun!

What format is your TV [PAL / SECAM / NTSC] ?
Check that the video output of the ATI grahpic card is set to the same type.
