I've followed the instructions on "help" for installing
east asian language files, but when I click ok or apply
after selecting "Install files for East Asian languages
checkbox", I do not get prompted to insert the windows cd-
rom or to go to a network location where the files are
located. What's going on? My computer can read east
asian files, but entering a text in my language does not
work.

You have not switched between languages in your language bar. The default is
always English. If you want to begin entering Chinese or whatever other
language you added to the language bar, the default keyboard setting should
be Control and Shift. So hold down Control and Shift one time. Then you
should be able to input.

NJ Star Communicator is much easier to use than XP Ime.
