d drive is my cdrw drive. whenever i try to send a file to it it I get this
message...D:\ is not accessible.
Incorrect function.
please any help would be appreciated. windows xp home..the thing did work at
one time...thanks

Can you drag and drop the same file within explorer?

Unless you have third party software - InCD, Direct CD or DLA (in which
case reinstall that):
See if the CD burning service is running - go to Control Panel, Admin
tools - Services, look for IMAPI CD burning. If it is not 'Started',
double click it, set Startup type to Automatic, and Apply - then click
Start. Check also in My Computer, r-click the Drive icon, Properties
and on the Recording page ensure that 'Enabled' is checked
