desktop not displyed

I have lost my desktop disply. There is only my
wallpaper, I don't even have the start button or taskbar.
If I Cntrol+Alt+del I can access the task manager and
open up programs that way. Can anyone help restore my
active desktop.

That just happened to me today. Let me ask, did you d/l and install
the newest set of "power tools" from MS? Specifically, the "creative
power tools"?

Anyway, the solution that worked for me was to turn off the
screensaver.

how do I turn off the screensaver? where do I find it?
remember I can't get anything on my desktop even with a
right click.
