I have an XP system with the C drive FAT32 and the D drive NTFS. For some
reason I don't have the "Security" tab on the "Properties" of any file or
folder on the D (NTFS) drive. Where do I go to activate XP to be able to use
the security features for the NTFS D drive?
The REAL problem I have is any file created with Publisher 98 and saved to
the NTFS drive (D) can't be opened by other Win98 computers in the network.
(The error message involves a security setting problem.) Other computers in
the network need to be able to open files on the NTFS drive and work with
them. (I can copy to and from the NTFS drive so it is not a network file
sharing problem.)
It appears that the NTFS drive is "locking" files and not allowing other
users on other system to work with those files. (I need to be able to change
the permissions on the files and folders so everyone can use them.) I can
right click on the file and go to Properties but there is no NTFS Security
tab. Where is it? Your help is appreciated. Thanks!
