View Full Version : Does WindowsXP have Sticky Notes/Scrap Notes?

Hello, I remember older windows used to have scrap notes files...Is this
still available in WindowsXP? (not text files) I want the option to right
click desktop and create new sticky not/scrap not for "to do" items

I don't recall any version of Windows that came with a Sticky Notes feature.
There are tons of freeware programs available however. I just downloaded and
installed http://www.tk8.com/easynote.asp It seems simple yet adequate.

You are probabl thinking of OfficeXP, which is a totally different animal
From WindowsXp. You must buy OfficeXP if you want the sticky note function.

Ok thanks, I understand now, but I have Office XP Small Business
edition...I found a help file on making a scrap file from within an office
application, but I'm still looking for how to enable the option for shell
integration...Right cick --> New ---> Scrap file...

Windows allows you to drag scraps of text to the desktop from an existing
document file. The result is an SHS file. These scraps are not editable,
they're just snippets of text. There was never a right click menu for these.
It sounds like you are remembering a third party program that you used to
have installed.
