I have version 2.6 of the linksys wireless adapter. I
looked in the Add/Remove Progam panel and the utility is
not installed. Also it is not listed under device
manager. I've tried rebooting and unplugging and
replugging in the adapter and it still does not get
detected on this computer. However I was able to do a
proper installation on my other computer.
I do believe it is when I checked the "do not ask me to
install this device again" box when I tried to install
the adapter. The box came up when I tried to install the
device the first time, the drivers were not found by
windows and it said that the installation couldn't be
finished and the adapter was listed as "Net" in the
device manager. I deleted it in device manager and then
tried again, somewhere along the line I was prompted with
that option.
