Hi'
I have just upgraded following a complete system crash and
have XP Pro installed.
When this was loaded the engineer used a PS2 mouse.
I use a USB one.
At start up a message is displayed:-
PS2 mouse initialisation Failure has occurred.
Press any key to continue.
How can I remove this message?
There is no mention of a PS2 mouse in Device Mgr.
I have tried starting up using a PS2 mouse and disabling it
but nothing removes the message.
Regards
Leon Perrins

Hi Leon,
You would need to disable the PS/2 port in the system BIOS.

Go to Control Panel | Performance and Maintenance | System
Click the Hardware tab.
Click the Device Manager button.
Click the + in front of Mice and other pointing Devices.
Right click the PS/2 Compatible Mouse.
Select Uninstall.
