View Full Version : Multiple Video Cards

I have 2 video cards I'd like to configure on an
emachines t-2082 with and AMD processor. An onboard and
an ATI Rage XL.
The motherboard is a VIA with driver version 5.1.0.3441.
When I install the cards only one monitor works. The
cards each work fine when the other is removed. However
when both are installed, there isn't the option to select
one or the other as the primary in the display settings,
as it only shows the name of one.
Any ideas. I've tried this also with an ATI Radeon with
the same result. The PC was just purchased.

Usually, a motherboard's onboard AGP video is automatically disabled when
you put something into the AGP slot. (If you check the BIOS, there is
probably an option that lets you specify which one to use first.)
If you'd like multi-mon, you should have an AGP video card + a PCI video
card, or an AGP card with multiple outputs.

The Rage XL will not function as a secondary display under Windows XP.
See the database at <http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/> for cards
that will.
