View Full Version : Double clicks from hell

I found one other article related to this, but I think there is something
really wrong. Even the latest version of Intellmouse 4.12 (or whatever, just
downloaded it from MS) has this problem.

Basically about 35-45% of the time my single clicks are taken as a double
click. And no this isn't it just interpreting two quick single clicks as a
double click. This is if I click the mouse once and only once it thinks it's
a double click.

It happens when I click on a windows title bar to move it around a lot
resulting in the window being maximized.

Anyone have a fix?

MS are you reading this? You need to fix this ASAP.

I've had 4 other people running Windows XP Pro with all of the patches
installed, all running different mice (including ones that don't have
Intellimouse installed and have Logitec etc.) and they all exhibit this
behaviour.

On the other hand, I have been running XP since the day it was released; on
this desktop with a Logitech Cordless mouse, and on my notebook with the
built-in touch pad and a Radio Shack USB mouse, and have never had this
problem.

Open the intellimouse app and set the properties for double
click speed and set "detect accidental double click"

Tried that. Doesn't fix it.

This seems to really manifest itself when you are clicking into a window
that doesn't have the focus. It always sees those as double clicks.
