WinXP Taskbar

I have WinXP Professional installed on a new pc. All of a
sudden, it now does not fully load the Windows Taskbar (at
the bottom of the screen). I am unable to click on the
Start button or click on the taskbar...it shows an
hourglass, although the desktop has an arrow, showing it's
done loading. In Task Manager, my explorer.exe task is
using the most memory during this time. The taskbar is
currently black and locked.

Is there a way to get the usage of my Taskbar back? Help!
