View Full Version : Right click problem on file menu

I have tried a trial program which added a menu option
when I right click on any file in the files listing.
The program didn't meet my specifications and as a result
the program was uninstalled.
The problem is the item entered by installation onto
the "right click" menu when I am in the file menu is still
there..
Hopefully so as not to confuse some more.. this is the
menu that you use if you are going to "send to" someone a
file by email etc.

He doesn't mean "Send to" which the path you listed the first time is =
still the same as this one. He meant when he right clicks and then gets =
the drop down, as like doing a "send to", it is part of that list drop =
down, and wants it gone. It has to be a registry entry to be deleted.

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
Each subkey under this branch represents a context menu item. Locate the
subkey in question and right click it. Select Export, to create a backup
REG file, just in case. Then right click it again and select Delete.
If you don't find the entry there, highlight the My Computer branch and
select Edit, Find and search for the text of the context menu item.
