At random times my monitor keeps going into power save
mode with the message "monitor in power save mode -
activate using pc" comes up on the monitor (after it goes
blank". Programmes still seem to be running when this
happens (when I have a CD in it carries on playing.
I have checked that all of the power save options are on
never, and I cannot work out what is wrong!!.. To start
the monitor up I have to turn the computer off (at the
switch ) and turn it back on again. Somethimes even this
fails to turn the monitor on.
i would appreciate it if anyone could help mewith the
problem
Thanks

Check your bios for any power saving options.
Also, see if the monitor itself has any power saving modes.

Re-boot your computer. The first screen that comes up should tell you what
key to press to enter bios. It could be the "esc", F1, delete key, etc. You
could also check the manual for your computer. Be very careful when you are
in the bios to not change anything you are not sure of.
