View Full Version : Show windows contents while dragging won't stick

I have just begun using XP Home on my new Dell Dimension 8300.

I cannot get the "Show windows contents while dragging" option to stick.

I right-click on the desktop, select Properties, select Appearance tab, push
Effects button and check the "Show windows contents while dragging" box, and
then hit OK, and OK.

The option duly goes into effect for that session. But when I log off and
back on, the option setting is lost. The "Show windows contents while
dragging" box is unchecked when I log back on.

Ideas? Thanks.

Will,

The problem may be due to "Dell User Experience" utility / software. =
Check with Dell Technical Support to sort out this problem.

Yes! That's exactly what Dell Tech Support told me. Some experienced users
advised removing the utility, saying that it is "an add-on of questionable
value."

Thank you very much for the tip.
