Can anyone please help.

To cut a long story short, I was required to re-install
XP due to loading and subsequently unloading utilities
that I no longer wanted. This has obviously left some
redundant files but I wouldn't know which and where they
are.

As a result of re-installing XP, my PC is as slow as....
does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make the PC
return back to normal startup speed and performance.

Peter.

Hello Peter

Did you perform a clean install of XP or just did a repair installation

My guess is some of the utilities you deleted were required
drivers.

Peter,

Could be that there are a lot of useless items in the
C:\Windows\Prefetch folder than can all be safely wiped out.
