Keyboard and mouse now inoperable

The problem is worse. I can use XP Home in safe mode, but as soon as
XP starts in normal mode, it freezes as soon as I move the mouse or
press a key. Works fine in safe mode, but can't find the scan engine
for the anti-virus....significant? --George

You can't find it in your menus? Was it not set to load at Windows =
startup?

Have you had a chance to look at event viewer in Safe Mode?

As Jupiter suggested---- if this is a recent problem, try Safe Mode & =
then use System restore to restore back to an earlier (working) date.
