Programs close Automatically

I have noticed that recently that some programs will
automatically close after playing them for only about a
minute. Wordpad for example, will just close without any
warning or nothing. Next thing I know I am back at the
desktop and all of my work is gone, just like it never
exhisted. It doesnt even ask to save first. Is there
someting to easily fix this problem.
